    Hey.
Is your second device running in player or in speaker mode?
Please start it in player mode and then switch to speaker mode, do you still see the banner ad?

The HTTP/REST interface is on the roadmap.

We will start with simple commands like: start, stop, volume up/down
In the future it will be enhanced by more complex commands like “start favorite radio station 1/2/3/..”, “connect/disconnect speaker xy”, etc.

Your feedback and ideas are very welcome… 😉

    Hey rascal.
The idea of “stealing” the speaker connection sounds useful.
I think this could be realized as advanced setting on speaker side.
Something like “Allow connection takeover by players”.

Browsing google music radio stations or playing track based radio stations isn’t on the roadmap at the moment. I’ll think about it… 🙂

    Hey.
Which java version is installed on your device?
    Please run java -version

And please also post the output of
    java -jar soundseederspeaker.jar -d

The ‘audio cast’ feature is my next main feature I’d like to implement, but I can’t promise anything yet.

The main drawback of this feature is, that the player device needs to be muted. (otherwise it would be out of sync with the speakers)

    Hey Verel.

That sounds interesting. But how would you handle all the stereo audio sources (radio, mp3, …)?
As most sources don’t support more than 2 channels, would this really be a benefit?

    Hello Verel.

At the moment you need multiple SoundSeeder Players to realize your scenario. Each player can connect to some of your speakers.
But you are right, it would be much more usable if you could control multiple players and all speakers from one device.
This isn’t so easy to implement, but I’ll think about it. Maybe its an idea for SoundSeeder 2.0… 🙂

    Hey Darwyn.
You are absolutely right, the PC speaker app requires an UI. I have a very long list of features I want to realize and this one is in the top 5. Please stay tuned, I will let you know when its done.

    And regarding your second question:
You can keep the speaker app running by changing the command line from “java” to “javaw”:
    javaw -jar soundseederspeaker.jar
But please note: You will need to kill the process via your task manager, if you want to stop the speaker app.

Hi Nillix. Soundseeder is now compatible with Logitech Media Server. Please update to soundseeder v1.5 and let me know if you notice any further issues.

    Thanks for reporting,

    Thank you very much! 🙂

    1. There are a lot of dlna renderer apps available for Android 2.x and the Raspberry Pi. At the moment I don’t think this feature is important for many users, as you can also launch a second app on the speaker device for this… Or did I get you wrong?

    2. Supporting the system audio is a very often requested feature. But you need root access to capture the system sound on Android. I have already tested some ways to get this working (maybe as xposed module). I can’t promise anything yet, but as the Google Music support is now completed, I will look into this in the next weeks.
But adding support for Amazon cloud storages (for non-rooted devices) is also a nice idea.

    1. “good wifi app” != “good wifi ap” 🙂 I meant the access point, not an application.

    2. “Wifi direct” vs “portable hotspot”:
When you use “Wifi direct”, one of your phones is the access point / hotspot for all your connected devices. That means every device needs a good connection to this device.
If you use a dedicated portable hotspot (either another android device in “portable hotspot mode” (see faq) or a battery powered portable WiFi Router) you can place this device in the center of all your soundseeder devices and minimize the distance between them. This will improve your connection quality and might fix your sync issues.

    3. SoundSeeder equalizer settings
At the moment the equalizer settings on player and speaker side are completely independent from each other.
As SoundSeeder uses the built-in equalizer of each device, the equalizer in your player device only affects the output of the player. If you want to adjust the sound on speaker side, you have to change it in the speakers equalizer settings.
I’ll have to implement my own equalizer to change that behaviour and didn’t have time for that yet.

    4. Audio sources
SoundSeeder supports dlna/upnp and http streaming of audio sources. The music of a windows pc can be played by offering it as dlna stream. Youtube videos can be accessed via http.
As fas as I know JetAudio doesn’t offer any interface to access its equalized sound output to play or stream it via any third party app like soundseeder.
